The Department of Genetics welcomes international students to study at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Below is some information that you may find useful to help you decide what to study and how to apply to the University. Our academic year starts in February each year, but a mid year entry in July may also be available for some courses.

The Department of Genetics offers two research-based programs Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and one combined research and coursework based program Master of Science (MSc) .
It is essential for you to contact the Department before submitting an application for admission to the University. Let us know which of our research laboratories you are interested in joining (you can nominate more than one) so we can forward your query to the appropriate supervisor.

NEW: Singapore National Science Scholarships

The Singapore Government is offering scholarships for Singapore nationals to study in approved institutions overseas. The University of Melbourne is an approved institution and the Department of Genetics welcomes applications from Singapore students to study with us.
